"THE PERFORMANCE OF STAINER'S CRUCIFIXION IN HIS CAPABLE HANDS WAS BOTH ELEGANT AND DRAMATICALLY MOVING."
With over 25 years of choral leadership, Nathan is known for his high standards, humour, and eye for detail. He studied for his Masters in Conducting with Dr Sharon Choa in 2002 and continues to regularly work with choirs, from professional chamber choirs, to choral societies, work place choirs and community choirs.
He has worked with singers from the Monteverdi Choir, The Sixteen, and the BBC Singers and has conducted the music for services in many churches and cathedrals across the UK, Switzerland, Estonia, Malta, and Belgium.
Nathan takes pride in promoting the music of contemporary composers and has presided over revivals of music by Avril Coleridge-Taylor (in conjunction with the Royal College of Music) and Ruth Gipps. He has also featured on BBC Songs of Praise and Radio 3.
His choice of music is at best described as eclectic, ranging from sacred choral music, through to musicals, arrangements of popular and folk music, to writing his own arrangements and compositions suitable for the voices of the particular choir he is working with.
He currently leads the Allianz Head Office Choir as well as Stoughton Hearts & Minds Community Choir, the FDS Singers, and assists with Newick Church Choir. He regularly deputises for other conductors at various choirs across the South-East of England including Harlequin Chamber Choir.
